Did you know? Cancer is the #1 disease related cause of death among children in the U.S. According the the American Childhood Cancer Organization, pediatric cancer causes more deaths than asthma, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy and pediatric AIDS COMBINED.
The Hollywood Dance Marathon is the primary fundraising event for Lights Camera Cure. The event is a high-energy dance party/charity benefit featuring supporters who sign up to dance for six hours and raise money from family and friends, similar to traditional fundraising walks. In its first three years, the event has raised nearly $200,000 to help fight pediatric cancer. Proceeds benefit pediatric cancer patient support and research programs at Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA and the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital. The 2015 event was a huge success having raised $101,248 (over $20,000 more than last year)! LCC is just 5 years old this year so we are so proud to have the support that we do.
I encourage you to watch this moving video of teenagers telling their stories about their battles with cancer and how UCLA Daltry/Townshend Cancer Program supports them.
Please also visit the Lights Camera Cure website and find out how you can get involved!
