I am still really loving the slip dress. It's ease, comfort, prettiness and versatility is second to none. But considering that the slip dress fully took over last Spring, and then continued it's reign with the slip layered over t-shirt look as the number one worn outfit of the season, I definitely needed a refreshing way to wear my collection of the popular and pretty dress.
I am really into army green right now. I don't know if it's the political climate and the rise of the resistance this year, or its perfect contrast to light pink, or what, but the color really moves me. So naturally, I pulled this slip by Zara last season out to play with. Not that it's a novel idea, but I loved the idea of putting a sweater on underneath, and since my green sweater was staring right at me, my outfit quickly went monochromatic in my mind. And with the edition of my utility jacket, it took on army girl vibes so naturally I threw on a combat boot.
And there you have it. A refreshed way to wear the slip! A little layering, some contrast of masculine and feminine and sticking to a monochromatic color palette and voila! You'll be wearing your slip dresses all season....again.
