Sundays set the tone for the week ahead. Too much work and you're already exhausted come Monday. Too much play and you are already stressed come Monday. As far as I'm concerned, Sundays are made to be fun days (Sunday Funday, duh), but with a crazy schedule like mine, I can't afford to play all weekend. Being productive is incredibly important in order to maintain my work, and my sanity. Which is funny considering we all also have to get in some down time in order to keep our sanity too. This balance can be tricky.
I am the type of person that must finish everything on my
to-do list and at the very least get in some beauty up-keep time, regardless of
how much time I have, or don't have. I usually check off Saturdays as a day of
errands and catching up on work, that way my Sundays are stress-free (ish).
Ideally Sundays are for the beach, or brunch, museums, reading, charity, beauty up-keep, and by god, for sleeping in- while also getting organized and getting some work done so that I stay ahead and feel relatively stress free that week. You know, waking up at 8:30am, having a good cup of coffee while reading a couple magazines. Going for a work out- maybe Yoga, or perhaps Ballet (definitely no running). Going to a nice brunch then to do something fun. Coming home and leisurely organizing while listening to Drake or maybe some Beach Boys on Pandora, then getting ahead on my blog and clothing line if I feel like it, you know because I've already finished all my work for the week (ha!). Then I end the day with some hot tea, an hour of reading, my 3 mask routine and a good bath (also ha!).
NOT.AT.ALL. what Sundays ever look like.
The reality is that I often snooze my alarm 10 times and
then frantically wake up and attempt to be functioning and productive while I
spend my day chasing time. Dog walking, coffee, eating if I'm lucky, organizing,
brainstorming, meetings, sewing, blogging, shooting, grocery shopping, editing,
checking off random to-do list stuff, trying to do something fun or relaxing,
getting ready for the week, facials FOR SURE, maybe a bath, (oops I didn't work
out), annnd pass the F out way before I wanted to.
Weekends are always crazy- but who needs to chill when it feels this damn good to get.shit.done. Am I right?
