10 Ingredients You Should Avoid At All Costs




1. POTASSIUM BROMATE
An additive used in breads (like Wonder bread) and rolls to increase their volume and produce a fine crumb structure. It has been banned by every other industrialized country other than the U.S. and Japan.

2. SODIUM BENZOATE AND BENZOIC ACID
When sodium benzoate is used in beverages also containing ascorbic acid (aka vitamin C), the substances can form small amounts of benzene, a chemical that causes leukemia and other cancers.

3. BHA and BHT 
Are antioxidant preservatives used to keep foods from going bad. These carcinogens impact sleep and appetite, and have been associated with liver and kidney damage, hair loss, behavioral problems, cancer, fetal abnormalities and growth retardation.

4. SODIUM NITRATE and SODIUM NITRITE
These additives are used as colorants, to preserve flavor, “beef up” volume, and to preserve the shelf life of meats like hot dogs, bacon and sausage. They mix with stomach acids to form nitrosamines, potent cancer-causing cells associated with oral, stomach, brain, esophageal and bladder cancers. Noticeable side effects include dizziness, headaches, nausea and vomiting.
Eating processed meat daily may increase your risk of cancer by 20% and they two ingredients are partially to blame.

5. PROPYL GALLATE
This antioxidant preservative is used by food manufacturers to prevent fats and oils from spoiling, and is often used in conjunction with BHA and BHT. Watch out for it in vegetable oil, potato sticks, chicken soup base, meat products, chewing gum and cosmetic products.

6. PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED OIL
The nemesis of heart health is trans fat. Trans fats are twice as difficult for the body to dissolve as saturated fats, they clogs your arteries, raise bad cholesterol and lower good cholesterol. Trans fats cause heart disease, diabetes, nutritional deficiencies and cellular deterioration.

7. ASPARTAME
This ingredient is actually a chemical agent that used to be claimed as a cleaning agent for car engines and other cleaning products. Avoid all products containing aspartame such as Splenda and Sweet’n’Low because this ingredient is considered to be a potent nerve toxin that can alter brain function, cause neurological problems, autoimmune diseases, behavioral changes in adults and even mental retardation in growing fetuses. Side effects can also include headaches, seizures, menstrual problems and gastro-intestinal distress.

8.  HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP
Fructose is a highly processed sweetener that causes weight gain and belly fat, but also increases blood sugar content and blood pressure.

9. MSG
Is a neurotoxin that causes damage to nerve cells by overexciting them to the point of cell death. Overexcited nerve cells tell your brain that you need more, so in essence, it is addictive and can cause serious weight gain. MSG can cause obesity, type II diabetes and metabolic syndrome. MSG is often hidden and labeled as monosodium glutamate, maltodextrin, sodium caseinate, autolyzed yeast, autolyzed vegetable protein, hydrolyzed vegetable protein, yeast extract and even citric acid.

10. FOOD COLORINGS

Food coloring are used to make food look more colorful and appealing to consumers. Red dye number 3 is associated with tumor development. Dyes have been linked to allergic reactions, hyperactivity in children, and even cancer. Just avoid them at all costs.
