I am a firm believer in re-working the wardrobe that you already have. This is obvious with staple items- a white button up, a good pair of trousers or jeans, the perfect sweater, a blazer, your favorite winter coat. But the same can actually be said for statement pieces! I have a collection of pieces that I love- some are staple items and others are stand out pieces- and both I wear a lot! It's all about how you wear things. This jumpsuit, for example, I have had for years and I wear it casually, out for cocktails, and have even worn it on the red carpet! It doesn't need much when worn by itself because it's so beautiful. I wore it as-is with a pair of statement earrings to a red-carpet screening of a film I produced last year. Because it has such an interesting scrappy front, I like to have fun layering with it, which helps to keep the jumpsuit fresh for me. I wear a button up under it, a cool sweater or even a super fun top- perhaps a ruffled blouse or bell sleeve top. Today, I chose to layer my favorite, soft white tee under it and pair it with a belt bag and a fun fedora for a little extra punch.
