Volunteers sign up to help transport animals in the rescue process from kill shelters to no-kill shelters, foster homes, etc. As a volunteer, you simply list the days you may be available along with the distance you’re willing to drive, and Doobert will notify you when a transport is needed that might match your availability. Sign up to be a foster home for days, weeks or months, depending on your preference or photograph animals in shelters and at rescues, then post the pictures and profiles of animals online on websites and social media.

Cards For Hospitalized Kids is a charitable organization that spreads hope, love and magic by distributing handmade cards to sick children across the country. A simple card with an uplifting message really helps with the challenges that sick and hospitalized children face by making them feel special, giving them hope and reminding them that they are not forgotten. Simply make a general card, birthday or holiday card following simple guidelines, mail your card to Cards For Hospitalized Kids and they will make sure it gets into the hands of a young one.
Girls On The Run targets pre-adolescent girls and aims to provide them with the necessary tools to embrace their individual strengths, activate their full potential and pursue her dreams. Volunteers meet twice a week in small teams of 8-20 girls to teach life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The 24-lesson curriculum is taught by certified Girls on the Run coaches and includes three parts: understanding ourselves, valuing relationships and teamwork and understanding how we connect with and shape the world at large.
