Micellar Water & Why You Need It, Immediately.

Micellar water has been around for over a hundred years. It was first popularized in France, where it was designed to help Parisians deal with France's infamously harsh water. One product that you will always find in a French girl's arsenal is Bioderma Crealine Sensibio H2O, also known as micellar water. Once one of France's best kept secrets, the magic micellar water has finally made it to mainstream.
Bioderma, a beauty kit staple amongst makeup artists, models and French civilians alike, is now available for sale online (and is sold every 3 seconds worldwide), and many other brands like Garnier, Simple and Aveene have made versions of their own.

How does it work?
Micellar water is the gentle, hydrating, no-rinse cleanser you've been searching for all your life. The water, which falls somewhere between a toner and a cleanser, completely removes makeup dirt, and oil from the skin without stripping your complexion. It even removes your mascara in a few gentle swipes. Basically it's magic.

Micellar water is a formula is made of particles called micelles, which are tiny oil molecules suspended in soft water. Dermatologist and Simple skincare expert Dr. Debra Luftman explains, “They work like a miniature sponge, mopping up dirt and makeup while hydrating your skin. Micelles have an oil-loving ‘tail’ that traps dirt, oil, and makeup and a water-loving ‘head’ that allows the micelles to dissolve impurities so they can easily be wiped away.”

Why you should use it
While other cleansers strip your skin and leave behind harsh chemicals, micelles dissolve dirt, oil and makeup and leave your skin with a glowy, hydrated finish. It's better than a cleansing wipe, which can just drag dirt and makeup around your face. And unlike a toner, micellar water doesn't contain alcohol and is safe to use around your eyes too. The water is great for all skin types, especially dry or acne prone skin.

How to use it
Simply soak a cotton ball or pad with micellar water and rub it over your face and neck as you would a toner. Then just move on to the rest of your skincare. No need to rinse! The result it clean, fresh, hydrated skin. You can use it morning and night, although I recommend removing any heavy makeup first.
